| | Children will participate in field trips to local green spaces, lakes and rivers, parks, gold/gem mines and points of interest each week! On non-travel days, children will participate in ecological inquiry and earth science investigations! This will include many opportunities to collect natural materials, create terrariums, make bird houses, walk on local nature trails, and examine specimens from the natural environment.
***This club camp is inspired by Greensboro's original "Junior Outdoors Club" operated out of the Fairview Recreation Center by Howard Robbins in the 1970's and 1980's. Great scientific thinking, observation and interest in the natural world was inspired in many by experiences in this Club. The Junior Outdoors Club camp will carry on this tradition and the legacy of Howard Robbins. |
