The Center for Visual Artists (CVA) hosts week-long themed art camps, ages 3 – 18, perfect for any aspiring artist, future spaceman, young fashionista or masked superhero flying through your living room. Campers spend the week creating works of art and exploring a variety of media based on their camp theme. Reader's Theater: Enhancing Language and Literacy Skills

The UNCG Speech and Hearing Center will offer a language and literacy camp for children with delayed language and literacy skills who are entering 1st or 2nd grade. Graduate clinicians will lead program activities under the supervision of two licensed Speech-Language Pathologists. The camp is designed to enhance language and literacy skills through dramatization and writing experiences using Reader's Theater and Writers Workshop materials. Children will participate in a screening session to determine appropriateness for the program and potential therapeutic goals. Parents will need to attend three scheduled parent seminars focused on providing reading and writing strategies. Parents will be invited to a Reader's Theater production on the last day of camp.

Five Yesterdays Summer Program and Three Yesterdays Summer Program

A fun and very hands-on summer program that concentrates on the crafts, trades and lifestyles of the Moravians who lived in Salem in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. Children will learn history as well as the crafts and trades of yesteryear such as pottery, weaving, hearthside cooking, wood working and many more. Activities are different each year and for each grade level. The week culminates with the children dressed in Moravian costume and attending a Moravian Lovefeast at Home Moravian Church.

Have a great time while learning a valuable skill which can be used for the rest of your life. Only 4-6 students are placed in each session to allow for individual attention. The University of North Carolina at Greensboro is pleased to again announce plans for Summer Music Camp, the largest university music camp in America! This summer we will offer two one-week camps, serving over 1,750 musicians, with programs in band, mixed chorus, orchestra, and piano. Students at camp are under the leadership and guidance of the artist-faculty of the UNCG School of Music, long recognized as a national leader in musical excellence. In addition, distinguished music teachers, performers, and conductors from throughout the state and nation will join the staff of Summer Music Camp to ensure that each student receives the highest quality instruction available. Ensemble performance in band, chorus, or orchestra will be emphasized and each camp will conclude on Friday evening with a concert for parents, relatives, friends, and area residents. 4-H Summer Adventures programs are open to all youth even if they are not in 4-H. We have a variety of programs that vary in topic, age, cost, length. OCCS- Junior Outdoors Club!!

Children will participate in field trips to local green spaces, lakes and rivers, parks, gold/gem mines and points of interest each week! On non-travel days, children will participate in ecological inquiry and earth science investigations! This will include many opportunities to collect natural materials, create terrariums, make bird houses, walk on local nature trails, and examine specimens from the natural environment. ***This club camp is inspired by Greensboro's original "Junior Outdoors Club" operated out of the Fairview Recreation Center by Howard Robbins in the 1970's and 1980's. Great scientific thinking, observation and interest in the natural world was inspired in many by experiences in this Club. The Junior Outdoors Club camp will carry on this tradition and the legacy of Howard Robbins.

Day camp sessions are designed to help improve each players fundamentals by allowing different ages and skill levels optimum gym time, station work and team play. Our younger campers in first and second grade, will be shooting on lower, age appropriate goals. Camp will help players of all skill levels to enhance individual skills through small group instruction as well as learn the concept of team play in our supervised games. Players will have a chance to compete in individual competitions and view special guest lectures and demonstrations throughout camp. Chris Haarlow, Director of the Precision Junior Academy & a Top 50 Kids Instructor in the Country, has developed and designed the camps to provide a fun learning environment that improves every junior golfer’s skill level. This is a 5-day intensive program for developing and tournament players. This camp dives deeper in to the game of golf to develop playing stratigies and specialty shots. It also develops a stronger, smarter golfer tought by the top instructors in the region. The first day of the camp, the juniors will participate in a skills test and full game evaluation. This illustrates to the Precision Instructors the junior's strengths and weaknesses of their games. Full swing video analysis and a short game skills review will establish the "game plan" of improvement for the week. This intensive 5-DAY camp will provide an elite training experience for junior and senior Taekwondo athletes. This is an exclusive 2-day indoor (9am-1pm) and 2-day outdoor (9am-4pm) ultimate climbing experience.
